Roles & Functions

  • Prepare the policy, beneficial/welfare schemes of Government of West Bengal for NRIs/PIOs/OCIs of West Bengal and make amendments in various policies related to them, from time to time.
  • Coordinate with Government of India for NRIs/PIOs/OCIs originating from West Bengal.
  • Develop a website for NRIs, PIOs and OCIs of West Bengal and maintain a comprehensive data base.
  • Provide Apon Bangla card, which would provide distinct identity to NRIs/PIOs/OCIs belonging to West Bengal.
  • Connect NRIs/PIOs/OCIs belonging to West Bengal with an online platform where they can register their grievances for timely redressal.
  • Provide access to NRIs/PIOs/OCIs of West Bengal for filing nomination to receive Apon Bangla Pravasi Banga Ratna Award.
  • Make provisions for Single Window System for enabling investments in the state.
